What We Offer

Everyone is a beautiful and unique individual. None of us are alike, and so we need to practice yoga with awareness, honouring our differences, our abilities, and limitations.

General Yoga & Gentle Yoga Classes

General classes are held on Tuesday & Thursday mornings from 9.30am – 11.00am. Monday evening from 5.30-7pm, Wednesday & Thursday evenings from 6pm-7.30pm.
Our gentle yoga classes are on Tuesdays from 1.30 - 3pm & Wednesday morning 9.30 - 11am, and are suitable for those new to yoga, those who may have been away from the mat for some time or those who wish to have a more modified practice due to illness or more limited movement.
Classes are 90 minutes long and consist of warm ups and flexibilities, gentle flow or vinyasa style yoga (general classes) or modified restorative practices (gentle class), pranayama (breath practices), relaxation or Yoga Nidra.
Please call first to ensure a space.

Somatic Yoga

Picture
Somatics is a movement therapy, a way of re-educating how our brain senses and moves the muscles. It’s an incredibly subtle but effective way of working with the body. This class teaches gentle somatic exercises and movements - these slow, gentle exercises release subconsciously held muscle tension and retrain habitual posture and movement patterns.
The term Somatic means ‘embodied’ or ‘of the body’. Thomas Hanna developed the field of Somatics influenced by the methods of Moshe Feldenkrais and others. The practices enable a wonderful freedom of movement in the body, and enhance our yoga practice (and general mobility) - Joy!

If this piques your curiosity - please register your interest for this 8 week program, you won’t disappointed - you may well be amazed.

Restorative Yoga

Often referred to as ‘Active Relaxation’ the practice of restorative yoga encourages a state of deep release through gentle stretching and opening; growing strength and flexibility with use of the breath - restoring, renewing and rejuvenating.
Restorative Yoga is of great benefit during life’s transitions such as times of grief and loss, pregnancy, menopause, recovery from illness or surgery, when experiencing insomnia, or just feeling weak or tired and in need of some ‘TLC’.
Restorative practices compliment our other yoga practices and is generally available on the 2nd Saturday of the month, from 10am-12pm.
Bookings essential as space is limited to 5-6 people.

Yin Yoga

Picture
Yin Yoga consists mainly of seated, supine or prone poses that are held for periods of time without moving, with muscles relaxed and passive -  breathing into the pose with ease.... it introduces us to the natural 'edges' of our beings in a graceful way as we draw inward to experience a deeply relaxing meditative state and opening in the body. Yin Yoga opposes and compliments our Yang - active lives, and yang forms of yoga and exercise that we practice - bringing balance and harmony to body, mind and spirit.
Yin Yoga is available  from 10-12noon on the 4th Saturday of the month. Bookings required.
